about

I begin the first verse in tribute to the classic 95 banger "Mad Ism" by Channel Live featuring KRS One. That song was huge in the hood at the time and that was the year I really became a smoker. Started in 94. Learned How To Roll In Late 94... 95 was the year I became a head tho... But back to the song. The "Mad Ism" single was special because it came with the instrumental. So we used to lite up and freestyle to that beat all the time. Hence I bit the opening line from Mad Ism by Channel Live as a tribute cause that line signified the set off to many a good night in da hood from yesterday. The "Blunts" track got some negative critiques in some of the reviews but I dig it cause I actually changed the flow on purpose. Rather then take the traditional pauses I normally take after the 2nd and 4th bars, I switched it up a lil and pushed thru to the 3rd and 5th bars. The Flow is more continuous. Not my typical flow at all. Told a nice lil story too bout how me and ol girl used to do get down on da weekends. She blessed the track wit some sexy adlibs too... good job babygirl... ex babygirl...

Hook:

The Way I Smoke Blunts...
(Inhaling Sound)
Repeat 8x

Verse 1

Wake Up In The Mornin
Got The Yearning For Urb
Did My Earnin Now Im Burnin
Cause I Learned From The Curb
But Ima 9 To 5 Survivah
Gotta Lotta Shit To Lose
Coppin Piff Off The Strip Is A Gift
If You Snooze
You Ca End Up Downtown
Manhattan In The Tombs
Sleeping Rough
Curled Up
Like A Kid In The Womb
Don't Know About You
That Ain't My Type Of Groove
So I Move Like A Dude
Bring Food To The Feud
Only Rock Wit Crews
Who Move The Same Way
Flashing Cash Yea They Asked
To Get Bagged By Pay Day
Kids Barely On The Street
Think They Know How To Hustle
Cause They Bang Witta Gang
Think They Gotta Lotta Muscle
But Its Real Out Here
Believe Me When I Told You
Hell I Can't Tell You Shit
But I Ca Show You
And Im Hopeful
That The Locals
Peep da Vocals
Bout The Ganjay
So Fellas
Get A Dutch And Just
Meet Me in The Hall Way

Hook

Verse 2

Get To Lickin
Like Its Chicken
Or The Kitten of My Woman
Treat It Wit The Weed
Then I Heat It Like An Oven
But It Can't Have Seeds
Thats weed I Can't Stomach
Give That Portion An Abortion
Open Her Up And Dump It
So Yo Buss It Cousin Puffin
Always Been A Pleasure
Lucky Cause My Cinderella
Let Her Fella Get Up
Used To Hate It Till She Tasted
Now Partake In The Endeavor
Tell The Truth You Aint Approve
Only Cause U Aint Know No Better
But My Baby Love To Laugh
Cuddle Witta Half
Take A Couple Drags
Till She Feel Tingles Like Bubble Baths
Make Love Till I Bust Grab Another Dutch
Good Girl Witta Bad Boy Fetish She Love To Puff
Once Ina Blue
Puff A Blunt Wit My Boo
Blunts By The Twos
Numb The Sunday Night Blues
Trite How It Might Sound
Funny Like To You
Just Lookin At My Life
You Aint Gotta Like The View
But I Do...

about

junclassic Queens, New York

junclassic is NOT Your average emcee. His voice is striking, something between the weighted baritone of a Bigge Smalls coupled with the streetwise snarl of a Prodigy. He often speaks in daily life narratives, barely escaping the pitfalls of New York City. Refreshingly candid, jun highlights the emotional burdens of Afrocentric modernity, a middle-aged Black man trying to make it all make sense. ... more
